Microsoft Build Conference 2012 - Hackathon
I participated in the hackathon at Microsoft Build 2012 and made it to the finals.
My project was the old card game, Speed. It was the first time I’d ever coded with graphics, and definitely the first time I’d ever written code for a touchscreen. I was proud of what I’d built in my spare time between sessions, and incredibly happy to have made it to the finals considering I was a team of one. The extra bit of fun (in my opinion) is that it was a 2-player game, played cocktail-style where each player sits at each end of the screen.
[I still have the source code for this but it’s coded for the original SurfaceRT and won’t build on today’s tools. If I can get it building again I’ll post some screenshots, even though it’s basically just the two community cards, and then each player’s hole cards :) ]
skip to the 2:43 mark to see yours truly :)
